The Nanticoke River
The Nanticoke Beach property sits on the shores of the Nanticoke River near its broad mouth on the Chesapeake Bay. To the west, across 2 miles of open water, is Blackwater Wildlife Refuge. The Nanticoke, named after the Native American tribe who inhabited its shores when Captain James Smith first explored the Bay, has been heralded as the least developed river on the east coast.

The town of BivalveNamed after the famed Chesapeake oyster, Bivalve is a quiet hamlet 20 miles west of Salisbury Maryland. Bivalve boasts its own tiny post office, a fire station, a full service restaurant appropriately named Boonies and, well, that’s about it. A marina with boat ramp and overnight docking is within walking distance of the property.
